Yesterday we took the kids out to the pumpkin patch and picked out our pumpkins for our yearly Halloween pumpkin carving tradition. My favorite part of carving pumpkins is getting to bake the pumpkin seeds. They're a great snack, and every year I try some new way to season them. After this year, I don't know if I'll try anything new again. I may have just nailed it.

My wife is more crafty and creative than me, so I let her carve the pumpkin with the kids. My job is to dig through the guts when it's all done and separate the seeds. Then I get to work in the kitchen.

I soaked the pumpkin seeds for half an hour in water, trying to get the last strands of pumpkin guts to come off the seeds. Next, I dried the pumpkin seeds between pieces of layered paper towels.

I preheated the oven to 350 degrees. I spread the seeds flat on a baking sheet and then sprayed them with a layer of PAM (canola oil.)

I reached in to the cupboard to find some seasoning and I noticed my favorite bbq brand Kinder front and center. My wife recently bought the Garlic Parmesan flavor of Kinder. Could these be good on pumpkin seeds? Why not try it?

I generously added the Kinder to the seeds and then popped it in the oven. Within minutes the house was smelling fantastic.

After about 20 minutes I stirred the seeds on the sheet and continued to bake them for another 10 minutes. After 30 minutes they were nice and crispy.

Everyone in the family loved this batch. Garlic Parmesan Kinder for the win!
