Godfather’s Pizza Is Returning To Duluth With Several Locations

If you grew up in Duluth, then there are several pizza places you likely remember that are no longer open in the area.

Restaurants like Shakey's Pizza, Happy Joes, Rocky Rococo and Godfather's were places I remember getting pizza while growing up and now one of those is returning, albeit in a different form.

Godfather's Pizza, the "Pizza You Can't Refuse!" is coming back to Duluth in 2023 in several locations.

According to FOX 21 News, Duluth business owner Derek Medved, who owns several KornerStore locations, has purchased the franchise rights to bring Godfather’s Pizza Express to his Duluth, Hermantown, Sturgeon Lake and Chisholm KornerStore locations.

Medved told FOX 21 that sections of these stores will be modified to meet Godfather's Pizza requirements and although they will be in express form, it will be the Godfather's brand and pizza that people remember.

One look online at the Godfather's Express menu shows that there will be a lot of tasty options to choose from. The pizzas come in two different sizes, a 4-piece mini and a 10-piece large pizza.

Of course you can build your own, but there are also specialty pizzas which include:

• All-Meat Combo: Pepperoni, Ham, Beef, Sausage, Italian Sausage, Bacon Bits & Mozzarella Cheese
• Bacon Cheeseburger: Beef, Bacon Bits, Onions, Pickles, Cheddar Cheese & Mozzarella Cheese
• Classic Combo: Pepperoni, Beef, Sausage, Onions, Black Olives, Mushrooms
  & Mozzarella Cheese
• Hawaiian: Ham, Bacon Bits, Pineapple & Mozzarella Cheese
• Hot Stuff: Pepperoni, Beef, Italian Sausage, Onions, Jalapeño Peppers & Mozzarella Cheese
• Humble Pie: Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Onions, Green Peppers & Mozzarella Cheese
• Taco Pie: Beef, Onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Taco Sauce, Cheddar Cheese
  & Mozzarella Cheese
• Veggie Pie: Green Peppers, Onions, Mushrooms, Black Olives, Tomatoes
  & Mozzarella Cheese

There are also take and bake pizzas, breakfast pizzas, cheesesticks, breadsticks, pizza rolls and even cinnamon streusel.

FOX 21 is reporting the first Godfather’s Pizza Express is expected to open in approximately in nine months at the Gary-New Duluth KornerStore location and then other locations will follow.

To staff each new Godfather's Express locations, Medved expects to hire over a half-dozen employees.
