Hand-cut Fries Steal The Show At Superior Restaurant
My wife and I went out to celebrate our anniversary last night. We wanted to splurge a little, so we went to one of our favorite restaurants. I've been going here for 20 years, and it was the first time I ordered a different side. Boy, am I glad I did.

We went to the Hammond Steak House in Superior, Wisconsin. If you want to get a good steak and a reasonable price, there is really no better place to go in town.
I ordered the 12 ounce ribeye, and usually I get a baked potato as a side. A few times I've gone with hashbrowns. This time I changed it up and got the fries. I don't think I'll ever pick anything else.

The fries came out on their separate plate, piled high with crispy goodness. These are thinly sliced, hand cut fries that were cooked to perfection. Each french fry was crispy, crunchy, and flavorful. I had no idea what I was missing all these years.
They had a firm outside, but just soft enough in the middle. Usually steak fries are thicker cut, but I think they hit it out of the park with these thin chip-like fries. It was a good portion, too, I couldn't even finish my dinner.
If you haven't been to the Hammond, get over there soon. Construction will start on the Blatnik Bridge next summer, rerouting traffic in the area. Let's make sure to support this local gem during and after the bridge construction project.
