Lately, it seems like Minnesota is catching on more and more! Just this week, Minnesota was named a top state for health and wellness. That's definitely not something we were on the radar on for before.

Now, Minnesota is being recognized in a big way thanks to a new study from WalletHub. The study named the greenest cities in the country.

This is a pretty cool list to be on and Minnesota is represented in a big way, with a Minnesota city being crowned in the top ten. Another Minnesota city made it into the top fifteen!

How WalletHub Crafted A List Of The 'Greenest' Cities For 2025

WalletHub analysts looked at a bunch of key factors here, including greenhouse gas submissions per capita, how much green space is available, how bike-able a city is and how many farmers markets there are per capita.

When all is said and done, San Jose in California was crowned the greenest city in the country. Washington, DC came in second with several other California cities rounding out the top five, including Oakland, Irvine and San Francisco.

Two Minnesota Cities Among 'Greenest' Cities In The Country

If you guessed Minneapolis and St. Paul, you'd be correct! Minneapolis placed in the top ten, being named the eighth greenest city in the U.S. Minneapolis has a high bike score, which helped it tremendously here.

St. Paul came in at number twelve, which is also a pretty impressive feat. Glendale, Arizona came in last place, with Houston taking the second-worst spot. Better luck next year?
