In Defense Of Minnesota’s Season Of Love Is Blind
Yes, I am definitely a few months late to the party but I finally caught up on the latest season of Love Is Blind over the weekend.
Yes, it is the infamous Minnesota season that finally dropped on Valentine's Day this year after hearing about it for what seems like forever. Warning: there are spoilers ahead!

What Is The Premise Of Love Is Blind?
In case you didn't know, the show is a huge hit on Netflix. The first season came out during COVID and the Minnesota season was the eighth in the franchise. The series follows a bunch of strangers that date in pods.

Basically, they are each in their own little room speed dating and they are never allowed to see the other person! Eventually, people break up and pair off and finally get to see each other when they get engaged. It's hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey.
People Hated The Minnesota Season Of Love Is Blind
When the season first dropped, people seemed to despise it! Usually, people love the show but that was not the overall consensus for the Minnesota season. People thought it was boring and skip-worthy.
Why I Think The Minnesota Season Of Love Is Blind Is Great
The first six episodes of the season were boring, I can't lie. However, overall, I think the season got an unnecessarily bad rap. It was different from other seasons in that there wasn't a ton of drama and fighting compared to the other seasons.

Instead, the women seemed to stick together and stick up for each other. While this doesn't always make for the most entertaining television, I found it heartwarming and a nice break from what we usually see on the show and reality television in general.
I also like that the fact that it was in Minnesota really shone through. The accents were thick, which was hilarious and unlike other seasons, you could actually tell where they were filming. I also love that everyone seemed to truly be Minnesota nice, which is not just a myth, even when there were big break-ups happening.
Overall, it was a much tamer season than past seasons and I think that's because that's just who we are. We aren't wild or crazy. We are solid and while that doesn't always make for the juiciest television, it still does make for entertaining and authentic television.
