We love to see it! Minnesota is living up to its reputation of being nice, according to a new survey of millions of travelers. Yup, over two-million people were asked which states were the friendliest to tourists and we made the cut.

The survey was done by Big 7 Travel and with millions weighing in, it has to have some type of weight to it, right? Either way, we are taking it and running with it! Minnesota was named the friendliest state to tourists in this survey.

We all know Minnesota is a great place to visit and it seems we really like when people choose the state for one of their vacations! We especially know this in Duluth where tourism is king.

So what makes us so friendly? Here's what the travel website and their following say:

Minnesota takes top spot, thanks to its extraordinarily friendly residents. It’s called ‘Minnesota Nice’ for a reason – the atmosphere in the Twin Cities and beyond is hard to match, with a homey feel and locals who go the extra mile to welcome tourists.

We have been named many things as of late but this one is extra special considering millions of people took part in this survey and it was voted by those that have first-hand experience with us!

It really does make sense though. We are known for being nice and friendly. I know I am always shocked when I visit another state and they aren't overly friendly because that is just what I am used to.

What About Wisconsin?

By the way, Wisconsin landed somewhere in the middle, coming in at number twenty-six. Basically, tourists find Wisconsin locals friendly enough but not over-the-top friendly. Here's what the website had to say about Wisconsinites:

Wisconsin is a Midwestern gem where people have good manners, a tight-knit sense of community and a fun attitude. In fact, Green Bay is one of the happiest places in the United States, so it’s no wonder people are nice as pie. Could it have anything to do with the Packers?

They just had to bring football into it, didn't they? As for the least friendly, that would go to New Yorkers. I can't lie - I find that easy to believe. They have a fast paced lifestyle that is so different than anywhere else. They mean business!
