Whenever I drive on this scenic road, my GPS goes nuts. It says "Welcome To Minnesota," then 10 seconds later it says "Welcome to Wisconsin, and then back to "Welcome To Minnesota" all in under 30 seconds.

The section of highway that passes through Wisconsin is on Highway 23 near Anton, Minnesota. It's just west of Duluth and adjacent to the St. Louis River which drains into Lake Superior.

If you want a beautiful drive, take Highway 23 next time you visit Duluth or go up the North Shore. It's a real nice drive on the two-lane road. You can exit I-35 near Sandstone and hook up with Highway 23 East which will bring you right through this section. Make sure to stop at the Wabegon, too. It's a cool place with a lot of history.

From there, you'll get some great scenic views of the St. Louis River as you make your way to Duluth.
