We've been meaning to check out a new restaurant in the neighborhood, and yesterday evening we finally got the chance to. My wife and I went out on a date night, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I've had recently in the Twin Ports. I was pleasantly surprised.

We used to love going to Tavern 105 in South Superior. That closed in 2021 after the property and business were sold. The sale happened in February and the owners posted the sad news on their Facebook page.

We were super sad to see this place go. We loved Willies Famous Wings that they served. Honestly, I don't think I've found a better chicken wing anywhere else. My favorite was the parmesan garlic. They were so good!

Then, I saw that a new restaurant, Central Pub opened in the Central Flats in Superior, and they mentioned they were the home of Willie's Famous Wings! WHAT!?

So that brings us to this week when we finally got the chance to check it out. We were there at about 5 pm on Wednesday. It was pretty busy, but there was seating available. I kind of cringe nowadays when I go out to eat because sometimes service is just plain horrible since the pandemic, but that wasn't the case.

We sat at the bar and had drinks from our bartender Spencer in just a few minutes. We go the menu and looked it over. The menu isn't too complicated, but I like that. They have Willie's Famous Wings of course. They also had salads, wraps, sandwiches, and burgers.

They have both traditional and boneless wings with a variety of sauces.

Oh, I forgot they have some seafood options too. Also happy to see that they offer gluten-free buns and wraps for those people with allergies.

We ended up ordering some garlic parmesan wings, cheese curds, and fries to split. We ordered the food at 5:20 pm. We had it by 5:28 pm. That's fast. I was happy and impressed.

The restaurant has a really nice feel, too. It's clean and has a nice ambiance. Our bartender Spencer told me that they will be bringing patio furniture out front too. That will be nice!

We had two drinks each, and dinner and the bill came to $45. That's not bad, and for the quick, friendly service I had no problem leaving a 20% tip. We can't wait to go back to Central Pub! The only question is if I'm going to try something other than the wings because man they are hard to pass up!
