You probably already know if you're reading this right now: it has been a very long summer in the Northland! We have been spoiled.

We always say that summers are short around here but it still feels like summer, even well into the end of September! Of course, this is unusual.

How unusual? At one point mid-month, it was reported that we were about fifteen degrees above average in Duluth!

These warm temperatures have continued, even with October just a few days away. The National Weather Service of Duluth just shared some interesting statistics regarding this month and how warm it has been.

Warmest September Ever!

According to the National Weather Service of Duluth, we are seeing our warmest September ever. In fact, there's even a few degrees between first and second place. Wow.

There are still a few more days left in the month so things could change but this is where things stand at the time of writing. It's looking to be a warm weekend so it's also possible we remain in the top spot for now.

That's Not All!

You may not have even noticed because you were too busy soaking in the sunshine but it's also been very dry in Duluth this month. As of now, we are seeing our second driest September in Duluth history.

Because we don't really have any rain (or snow) in the forecast while we wrap up the month, it's likely we will cement our place on the list of driest Septembers ever.

What an odd month! I am definitely ready for fall - and fall temperatures. I just know we will be paying for this when winter rolls around. Ha!
