What’s The Story With This Never-Seen-Before French Cruise Ship In Duluth?
We've seen some cruise ships in the Duluth harbor before, but this one stood out. The beautiful ship is only a few years old and recently made its first visit to Duluth.
This September, the French-registered cruise ship le Champlain docked in Duluth for the first time. It caught a lot of people's attention. Here's some cool things about the cruise ship.
The ship operates cruises across the world. It's a French ship, and it's registered to the port of Mata Utu. Where is that you might ask? In the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
Ponant Cruise Lines sails Le Champlain and offers multiple voyages through the Great Lakes, The St. Lawrence Seaway, the Caribbean, Scandinavia, Iceland, Greenland, and more.
The ship was built in 2017 and launched in 2018, making it one of the newest ships you'll see in the Duluth Area.
The ship has a beautiful observation top deck, and also a pool on the back of the ship. Check out the luxury!
Le Champlain departed Duluth on the night of September 19th, 2024. You can watch the video from the Canal Harbor Cam and actually see flashes of lightning from the storm that night on the horizon. What a beautiful ship to see visiting Duluth!
Check out my friend Vibe with Mike's video for more information (and other cool boats as well.)
Take a tour inside the cruise ship with Cruise Captial. What an experience that would be!
