Wisconsin Named Among Top 20 Best States For 2025

U.S. News & World Report just released their annual list ranking of the states from best and worst for the year.
The publication releases this list every May. This year, Minnesota made the top five, being named the fourth best state in the country!
So how did Wisconsin fare this round? Not as well as its neighbor but still pretty good overall, especially when you consider the full list.
Wisconsin Named Among Top 20 Best States For 2025
As mentioned, Wisconsin did not fare nearly as well as Minnesota this year but still placed in the top twenty, being named the 17th best state in the country. That's not too shabby!

Wisconsin did pretty well when it comes to education and opportunity, placing top ten in the country when it comes to those two factors. This looks at how many residents have degrees, cost of in-state tuition and the like.
How Did U.S. News & World Report Create These Rankings?
The publication looked at eight different categories, weighing them all slightly differently so some carry more weight than others! The categories include health care, education, natural environment, opportunity and more.

When it comes to the best state in the country for 2025, that would be Utah. As for the state to avoid this year? That would be Louisiana. I guess I know where I should go on vacation this year!
