If there's a book lover on your holiday list - consider your gift shopping done!  And if that book lover is you - this is the event you've been waiting for all year long.

The Friends of the Superior Public Library invite everyone to their annual Merry Little Book Sale - happening Friday and Saturday, December 2 and December 3 at the main library.

If you've gone in years past, you know that the event is probably one of the largest book sales in the area.  The organizers fill an entire room (or more) with categorized books for sale in a wide variety of different categories.  Donations for the annual holiday-related book sale are taken all year long, so the tables are filled with tons of bestsellers (both fiction and nonfiction titles), cookbooks, children's books, self-help books, audio and video titles, and so much more.

The organizers - the Friends of the Superior Public Library - are particular about what books they take in for donation (in a good way) so you can be assured that the titles that are offered for sale are in "perfect condition" - either new or like-new.

In addition to the books for sale, the library provides a festive atmosphere - perfect for holiday shopping.  There'll also be live music on site, free gift wrapping service, and plenty of refreshments to enjoy.

One thing that's new this year is that you'll have the opportunity to both shop from and support the Envision Education and Learning Centre - a community library in Ghana.  The library "provides access to quality resources and books, and a place for children to do their homework and explore topics outside of their school curriculum".  In order to help support the funding for the program, the group will offer "a variety of Ghanaian crafts" for sale.  Shoppers can choose from unique jewelry, ornaments, baskets, and decorative fans. All of the proceeds will benefit the Envision Education and Learning Centre.

Also - while you're at the library for the Merry Little Book Sale, be sure to pick your 2023 Superior Public Library calendar.  Each features a color image from the library's much-loved Carl Gawboy mural collection; Gawboy painted local historical images that are featured throughout the library; 12 of those images have been selected to help you keep track of the months of 2023.  Calendars are $20.00 and are available for sale exclusively at the Superior Public Library.

The Merry Little Book Sale happens Friday, December 2 - 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday, December 3 - 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Superior Public Library - at the corner of Belknap and Tower in Superior. Dealers are welcome to shop the book sale on Saturday.
