Northern Minnesota Fire Department Responds To Adorable, Unique Call

Firefighters get called out to handle a lot of situations. From hose fires and car accidents to rescue efforts, firefighters have to be ready for just about anything.

While you have to expect the unexpected as a firefighter, one Northern Minnesota fire department got a call this week that they called particularly unique. It also happens to be pretty cute.

On May 22, members of the Cloquet Area Fire District shared the details of an unusual rescue effort that they received a call for from their dispatch team.

When they got to the scene, they found some adorable baby geese - still in their fluffy yellow baby feathers - were stuck between the rails of some railroad tracks. The baby geese were too small to get up and over the rails and needed some help.

The responding firefighters said the baby geese were a tricky task to handle. While small, the babies were fast and difficult to catch. The goose parents were also nearby, upset and concerned about their babies.

Quick sidenote: How about that mustache? 10/10 on that firefighter face accessory. Nice work, young man.

The report from the responding team explained that they worked quickly and carefully to ensure that each of the goslings was safely guided off the tracks and reunited with their parents, who were obviously pretty protective of their young ones.

In the end, the teamwork of the responding firefighters led to a happily reunited family of geese and a safe conclusion to the situation.

The department thanked the observant person who called in the babies stuck between the tracks, "looking out for their web-footed neighbors".

The department says it isn't often they get calls like this, but they're always happy to help those in need, feathered or otherwise.
