Minnesota Lodges Nominated in National Contest
Twenty lodges across the country have been nominated. The public will vote until Monday, June 2nd, to determine the 10 best fishing lodges in the U.S.
Two Minnesota resorts made the shortlist, each offering “a unique blend of relaxation, adventure, and connection with nature.”

Ballard’s Resort: A Lake of the Woods Classic
Located in Baudette, Ballard’s Resort is one of the state’s most well-known fishing lodges. Sitting on the shores of Lake of the Woods, this four-season destination is a favorite among anglers chasing trophy fish.
A third-generation family business that opened in 1961, Ballard’s offers cozy cabins, a spacious lodge, bar, and restaurant, all with fast access to some of the best walleye fishing in the world.
Hungry Jack Lodge: A Gunflint Trail Gem
Also representing Northern Minnesota is Hungry Jack Lodge, perched just off the scenic Gunflint Trail and only about two miles from the Canadian border.
Located on the edge of Hungry Jack Lake, the resort features a variety of cabin options, a campground, and a bar/restaurant. It’s open year-round for outdoor fun, but the fishing, walleye, northern pike, and smallmouth bass, is what truly draws summer visitors to this classic log lodge.
The final top 10 list will be released Wednesday, June 11th. Cast your vote now and let’s help Minnesota land both the #1 and #2 spots on the list.
