Minnesota Ice Castles Announce Temporary Closure With Plans To Eventually Reopen This Season
Minnesota's Ice Castles have been enjoying a decent season, opening for the 2025-2026 winter season at the end of December. There have been some years where the weather wasn't very cooperative, and the attraction's season was fairly short. This year certainly hasn't been that way.
This winter, conditions have been cold enough to keep the attraction going strong through January and well into February. Our recent warm-up, however, took its toll on the ice attraction at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in the Twin Cities.
The team behind the Minnesota Ice Castles announced that starting today (Friday, February 21), the attraction will be temporarily closed as they do a little "refresh".
As they explained on social media, after Mother Nature sent a little warmth to Minnesota earlier this month, they are temporarily shutting down the attraction to "protect the magic (and your experience)" and do some repairs and preservation work to allow the attraction to reopen as colder weather settles back in.

Their temporary closure will start on Friday, February 20, and is expected to end on Wednesday, February 25. Organizers say they will be adding new dates to their website for visitors to get tickets "in the coming days".
Anyone who may have tickets for one of the dates the attraction will now be closed will automatically get a full refund, including service fees and sales tax.
As I mentioned, with the return of cooler conditions (and after some rehab), Minnesota's Ice Castles will be able to continue further into this winter season!
When the ice and snow eventually melt away, the fairgrounds will be hosting some awesome music during this summer's Minnesota State Fair! Here's a look at the announced Grandstand acts playing there this year:
