As one person in the comments put it, "I'm not saying he's right, all I'm saying is I understand 😂😂😂😂".

A four-year-old Wisconsin boy recently picked up the phone to call for something he perceived as an emergency at the time, dialing up 911 to report that "his mom was being bad and needed to go to jail". The crime his mom was committing? Eating the boy's ice cream.

The situation went down in the Village Of Mount Pleasant, which is near Racine, Wisconsin just south of Milwaukee.

As the department's Facebook post explained, two officers were dispatched to the boy's home after a 911 hangup call where the dispatcher was told by the boy that "his mom was being bad and needed to go to jail".

When Officer Gardinier and Officer Ostergaard of the Village Of Mount Pleasant Police Department arrived, the young boy explained that the crime was that his mom had eaten his ice cream. The boy told the officers that he no longer wanted his mom to go to jail, and he really just wanted some ice cream.

The officers returned the next day with a surprise for the boy, some sweet justice in the form of ice cream.

The story has gone viral, getting shared around the country, and media outlets reporting on the story.

Comments on the department's social media post largely called the moment cute, with one person suggesting calling 911 might not have been the right thing to do, but they understood the boy's plight over his ice cream.

Feelings on the post were split, however. Some felt the boy shouldn't have been rewarded for misusing 911 or that this might teach the kid that calling 911 will lead to getting a treat.

Most people found humor in the situation or called it adorable, with several recalling stories from their own youth or about their kids.
