After a Monday night fire, a Sauk Centre business wasn't sure what was going to happen next. It didn't take long for another local business to step up and lend a hand, and what was even more impressive was that the helping business could be considered competition. Here's the story about how a small town business affected by a fire is getting a loving lift from the rest of the town.

Monday's Fire Was Devastating For Sauk Centre Salon

Jessica's Shear Paradise, which operated on the 300 block of South Main Street in Sauk Centre, is getting some help after the business was closed due to a fire that 'devastated' the building.

It wasn't just Jessica's Shear Paradise that was affected by the fire; other surrounding businesses were also impacted by the Monday night fire, along with residents who lived in the apartments above the businesses.

But true to any Lifetime movie, it's when things look darkest that a community comes together to lift those affected up, and that's what is already happening in Sauk Centre.

Another Salon Steps Up To Offer Space For An Affected Business

Generally, in the world of business, when your 'competition' is down, you want to keep them down, but that wasn't the case here. Artistic Image Hair and Nail Salon in Sauk Centre learned about what happened to Jessica's Shear Paradise and has offered up space for the stylists to work alongside the stylists at Artistic Image while things get figured out.

Businesses pulling together and providing support. When one of our own goes down, you pull together and help lift them up where able.
We are relieved and excited to announce that the ladies of Artistic Image Hair and Nail Salon have reached out to Jessica's Shear Paradise and have made room for all of their stylists. They have chairs, stations, and the manpower lined up to get 5 additional stations ready for Jessica’s crew!
Jessica’s Shear Paradise will have the ability to continue serving their clients while working through this devastating loss of their building (and contents) and hope to retain a little sense of normalcy in the coming days. Those who are clients of Jessica’s Shear Paradise’s can continue to receive the same level of service, just in a different location (right across the street) for the time being.
Melissa Dirkes, Angi Marthaler, and Jessica Essler – and to all your stylists – we are so incredibly blessed that you choose to build your dreams here and the support you show each other during this time too!
Please note: Jessica Essler and her team are reaching out to clients and won’t be taking any clients this week. We have been made aware that they WILL BE doing all appointments that are scheduled for this Saturday for prom! They continue to rise above this devastating loss, and we hope you will continue to cheer on and lift all our local businesses as they try to find new ways to move forward in the interim. Having a space, even if temporary, is a small win that we can celebrate today.

The Sauk Centre Chamber shared the uplifting story to social media last night, and it's a testament to how things are in small towns: everyone has to pull together when unfortunate/bad things happen.
