Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Attorney's Office has filed charges against a former Rochester woman in connection with a stabbing that occurred in Rochester in late December.

The criminal complaint says Rochester police officers were sent to a home in the 1700 block of 45th Street Northwest on December 29 to investigate reports of an assault. When they arrived, they found a woman bleeding from a stab wound.

The court document says the victim told the officers that she had been stabbed by 22-year-old Sierra Emani Sims while the two women were engaged in an altercation involving an ongoing dispute over "a mutual romantic involvement" with a man.

The charges indicate, through their investigation, the officers learned the two women had been arguing on social media platforms and discussing a time and place to meet to engage in a fight. The document also notes that Sims was pregnant with the man's child.

According to the criminal complaint, the two women started with a verbal exchange before they engaged in a physical fight. At one point, there was a break in the fighting and the victim stated that is when Sims pulled out a knife and stabbed her in the chest.

The court document also includes statements given to police by Sim's mother, who witnessed the altercation. She told police the victim was attempting to kick her daughter in the stomach while saying, "you were not going to have that baby." The mother also told the officers the victim longed at her daughter and her daughter reacted by stabbing the victim.
