Eveleth, MN (KROC-AM News)- A man who was found suffering from severe burn injuries at the scene of a Minnesota house fire has died.

The fire was reported shortly before 11:30 Friday morning. First responders were dispatched to the report of a man in his 60’s suffering from burn injuries at the end of a driveway, according to a news release issued by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office. 

Responding firefighters found the home in the 7100 block of Antoinette Rd. in rural Eveleth, MN fully engulfed in flames upon arriving at the scene, the news release says.

The man found at the end of the driveway was eventually airlifted to a metro area hospital.

On Saturday the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office sent an updated news release indicating the man found at the scene of the burning home had died from his injuries. 

He has been identified as 63 year old Dale Wallander of rural Eveleth.

No other injuries were reported. The cause of the now deadly fire is under investigation by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office.
