Firefighters Rescue Unconscious Kids, Adult from Minnesota House Fire
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News)- Nearly seven-dozen members of the St. Paul Fire Department were involved in the rescue of six kids and one adult from a house fire Wednesday morning.
A St. Paul Fire Department spokesman said during a news conference that crews were called to the fire around 1:30 a.m. The fire was reported at a residence in the 1200 block of North Arkwright St., which is north of downtown St. Paul.
Responding crews encountered what the spokesperson described as smokey conditions and found a fire inside of the home. Firefighters knocked down the flames and began search efforts, which led to the discovery of the children and the adult.
Officials say all seven individuals were unconscious when they were found. Firefighters rushed the home’s occupants outside where CPR began.
The seven individuals were then transported to local hospitals for further care. No first responders were injured in the firefight.
Firefighting efforts lasted for about 2.5 hours and crews remained at the scene until about 5 a.m.
The cause of the fire is not yet available, however the preliminary investigation indicates the fire did not start under suspicious circumstances.
