That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Tuesday. The alleged assault occurred on Monday.
The charges say the postal employee was sitting in his marked mail truck when a woman identified as 33-year-old Halimodenise Bashir Mohamed approached him and expressed being upset over junk mail she had received.
The mailman said the Rochester woman then threw mail at him. He also accused her of striking him in the face and chest, the criminal complaint says.
The complaint does not list the location of the alleged attack of a federal employee and does not describe any injuries suffered by the mailman.
Mohamed was arraigned Tuesday on a gross misdemeanor fourth-degree assault of a postal employee-demonstrable harm charge and two counts of misdemeanor assault.
She was released without bail and is due back in court next month.
