You Won’t Believe How Much Eggs Cost Now In Minnesota
Just a few months ago, I walked into a Kwik Trip in Minnesota and saw that eggs were almost $7.00 for a dozen. I walked out thinking that I'd be able to get a better deal at Costco. After I scanned in at the mega warehouse, I noticed quite a few people walking around with cartons and boxes of eggs in their hands. Obviously, Costco was my solution to having zero eggs in my house. That's where I went wrong.
The room at Costco with all of the dairy items had zero eggs. It was just an empty pallet.
Bird Flu has been a big contributor to the extreme rise in egg prices in 2025. To try and contain the spread, millions of egg-laying hens were killed, which created a shortage of eggs for all of us in the United States. When shortages happen but the demand still exists, prices go up.
Thankfully, I just witnessed a bit of good news for all us in Minnesota! I've got a sneak peek for you below...I have a feeling it will make you smile!
GOOD NEWS, MINNESOTA! Popular Grocery Store Item Just Dropped Substantially In Price
Just like a lot of Americans, I've been watching the prices of goods rise these past few months. According to CNBC, 77% of us have noticed our wallets screaming the most from the inflated grocery prices. And it isn't stopping. It was just announced the other day on www.y105fm.com that meat items that are popular for grilling are expected to increase.

Pinching pennies and finding deals are becoming more of the norm again as shoppers look for stores that are cheaper, like Aldi, which claims to save families about $4,000 a year.
Thankfully, one item has had a noticeable price decrease at grocery stores this past week.
New Egg Prices Spotted in Minnesota Is Good News For Shoppers
Earlier today, I stopped at the store to grab the usual necessities for the family - milk, bananas, and eggs. I went where most of us go for a quick stop for these items, Kwik Trip. As I glanced at the price on the shelf, I wanted to cry...or scream...or tell the person near me grabbing a box of Dunkers...because the price of eggs had dropped substantially!
According to the US Inflation Calculator website, egg prices have had quite the leap in 2025. In January, we saw an average price for 12 eggs to be $4.95.
February was when we all started talking to one another about what we were seeing at the store because the average price for a dozen eggs rose to $5.90 throughout the country. This is also the time frame when I tried buying eggs at Costco but had to leave the store empty-handed.

March is when the average egg prices were $6.23/dozen. A few stores had already informed customers about the egg limits at this time, and to solve this issue, many of us (like me) just quit buying eggs because we couldn't find them.
April was a little better when prices decreased slightly showing an average for 12 eggs to be $5.12.
This week seems to be a breaking point in the supply/demand issues for eggs. Prices for eggs have dropped significantly and are now in what I'd call a "respectful price".
At this Kwik Trip store in Rochester, Minnesota, I saw eggs at $3.89/dozen. At the Walmart in town, it was $2.96 for Great Value, Large White Eggs, 12 Count.
Not sure we will see $0.99 for a dozen eggs ever again, but I'm loving that 2 at the front of that price tag!
THAT is some good news we all needed to hear.
