Just a few days ago, communities around the country were waking up and learning that one of their restaurants had closed permanently.  Since the start of 2024, at least 44 Hooters locations have shuttered with most feeling that impact this past weekend.  Now, that list has been revealed, and the fate of Hooters restaurants in Minnesota.

Hooters isn't the first company to have this type of negative news circulating our Google news feeds.  Red Lobster, and JC Penney's had a few closures already in 2024Walmart and Target closed several locations in the past year.

Why Are Hooters Restaurants Closing Suddenly?

Multiple Hooters restaurants silently shuttered a few days ago as a result of what the company said was "underperforming stores".  Texas was hit with the most closures.  Several other states, including Illinois, also felt the loss as stores went from "Open" to "Permanently Closed" on Google.

USAToday shared in their story that the Atlanta-based company indicated that they are still planning on opening more Hooters locations around the world, and Hooters frozen products are going to be launched soon and will be available for customers at grocery stores.

Are Any Hooters Locations in Minnesota Closing?

I've had a few people ask me if any Hooters restaurants closed permanently.  There is a short answer and a long answer to this, and I'll start with the short.

Short Answer:  No

Long Answer:  There is only one Hooters restaurant in Minnesota.  It is located at the Mall of America on the 4th floor near the East parking ramp.  As of right now, it appears to be open for business as usual.

As we've realized with other businesses, things can change fast and places can close without any notice.  If this location does suddenly close, we will have the information available on our free app for you to read.  No subscription is required.
