Delta Air Lines Is Now Adding 2 New Non-Stop Flights From Minnesota
One thing that's certain in the world of airline routes and flights is change. And a new change is coming to Minnesota, with word that Delta Air Lines is adding two new non-stop flights from the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
Chances are, if you're flying out of Minnesota, you'll likely be onboard a Delta Air Lines flight. Delta is based in Atlanta, Georgia, but its second-largest hub is here in the North Star State at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) near Bloomington.
While 18 different airlines offer service at MSP, Delta by far offers the most. And I still kind of think of Delta as a 'Minnesota' airline, seeing as it merged with Minnesota's Eagan-based Northwest Airlines back in 2008.

Delta says it runs nearly 330 departures from MSP to 119 destinations across the globe, offering nonstop service to international destinations like Amsterdam, Paris, London, Seoul, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico City, Tokyo-Haneda and more.
Delta also serves multiple cities in Canada from MSP, including Montréal, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, and Toronto, and is currently the only carrier at MSP to provide nonstop service to Asia, it says.
And now, Delta is adding two new routes from Minnesota, flying non-stop from MSP to Vail, Colorado, and Watertown, South Dakota. According to Ishrion Aviation, here are the two new routes:
- Seasonal winter service to Vail/Eagle County (EGE), Colorado
- Year-round service to Watertown (ATY), South Dakota
According to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, Delta is targeting winter travelers headed to Rocky Mountain ski areas with a new direct flight between MSP and EGE. But it's an extremely limited, seasonal route: The flight will only run from during the holiday season, from December 20, 2025, to January 4, 2026.

Meanwhile, the MSP–ATY South Dakota to Minnesota route Delta is launching is set to start August 2, 2025, and is replacing a similar flight from Watertown to Chicago.
These two new flights help reinforce why MSP was once again named the best airport in North America for the third year in a row-- marking the seventh time in the last eight years it has won that distinction.
