FBI Issues Jugging Warning: The Video All Minnesotans Should Watch
An alarming trend called "jugging" is rapidly spreading among thieves.
Although incidents of jugging have been reported nationwide for some time, the situation has escalated to the point where the FBI is now involved.
What is jugging?
Jugging is when criminals target people who have just withdrawn cash from a bank, ATM, or drive-thru.
The terrifying part is that these perpetrators might track their targets for extended periods, sometimes for days, weeks, or even months, studying their habits.

While at the bank, the criminals watch their victims, often times from a distance, sometimes using binoculars, and then follow them to their next location to rob them. Usually at gunpoint.
How Minnesotans Can Avoid "Jugging"
Mix up your schedule to stay unpredictable. Break the habit of visiting the bank at the same times and locations.
While at the ATM, stay alert to your surroundings. If you notice someone suspicious watching or following you, drive to a busy location or head straight to the nearest police station. That'll scare them off.
Be cautious of individuals who remain in their vehicles, backed into parking spaces, without exiting to conduct any business.
Whenever you do withdraw cash from a bank or ATM, make sure to remove it from your vehicle and never leave it unattended.
If you have any information related to recent bank jugging incidents, please contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL FBI or submit an anonymous tip through tips.FBI.gov.
