Well, guess what? USA Today just dropped their list of the best gas station brands in the whole country, and three that Minnesotans know, and know very well, made the cut!!
So, how did these top dogs get chosen? A panel of experts hand-picked these 20 brands because they actually care about what drivers need, beyond just the gas!

Hy-Vee might be better known for its grocery stores, but several of its locations also have Hy-Vee Gas stations that offer solid snack selections and access to their popular Fuel Saver program.
Hy-Vee, an employee-owned company, prides itself on providing customers with high-quality, healthy food and excellent customer service. Drivers will find these aisles in eight states throughout the Midwest. While the company began as a general store in 1930, it’s expanded to offer adjacent convenience stores and gas stations. - USA Today.
No surprise here, a Midwest fave, Kwik Trip, was also on the list. They are consistently named the best of the best and have more than 350 locations in Minnesota alone. It's no secret, Kwik Trip nails the whole gas-station-plus-convenience thing!

Kwik Trip, a Wisconsin-based, family-owned company, operates more than 800 stores in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, South Dakota, and Illinois. Their bakeries make more than two dozen types of items each day, and all milk is sourced from dairy farms within a 100-mile radius of La Crosse, Wisconsin. - USA Today.
Casey’s also earned a spot on the list, and you know their breakfast pizza absolutely helped seal the deal. With around 200 locations across the state, it’s a staple in these parts.
Casey’s has earned a loyal following for carrying just what road trippers need when they need it. Hungry drivers appreciate the selection of food made in-store, including sandwiches and pizza — the breakfast pizza is particularly popular. - USA Today.
