With an early spring comes an early drive-in movie season!

Long Drive-In in Long Prairie opened for the season last week and took advantage of the unusually warm early spring weather.

This weekend the theater will show Ghostbusters Frozen Empire and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

The Ghostbusters movie will show first on Friday night (8:40 p.m.) and the two movies will swap spots on Saturday night.

The Long Drive-In is celebrating its 68th season in 2024! Gates open at 7 p.m. both nights and cost just $8 for adults and $5 for kids 6-11. Kids under five and pets are welcome for free.

The ticket price covers both movies. Visitors can choose to stay for one or both movies.

The audio of the movie on the screen can be heard via FM radio and the first three rows have vintage 1956 Drive-In speakers. Long Drive-In also features an extensive concession menu with pizza, corn dogs, popcorn and ice cream among its offerings.

The Long Drive-In was opened in 1956 and was built by Tillie Smith of Sauk Centre. It has changed hands several times over the years and is currently run by the Meier family.

Long Drive-In is located at 24257 Riverside Drive in Long Prairie.

The Starlite Drive-In in Litchfield is planning to open on May 3rd.
