If it seems like the Labor Day holiday has snuck up on us - it has. The unofficial "end of summer" is just around the corner, and with it comes the holiday schedule changes for garbage and recycling pick up in the City of Superior.

Officials with the city are working in advance to get the word out about the alterations to the schedule.  Here are the details:

According to the city's website, the Public Works Department will be closed to observe the holiday on Monday, September 2.  In addition to the offices at city hall, the Municipal Landfill out on Moccasin Mike Road will also be closed for the day.

As far as the garbage pickup schedule goes, it looks like those that will be affected the most are the Monday and Tuesday pick-ups.  There will be no pick up on Monday, September 2; those people are instructed to have their receptacle out to the usual pick up spot by early Tuesday morning.  Those extra pick ups may cause some delay to those with a normal Tuesday schedule.  The rest of the week should run as usual, however the city does advise that there may be some delays.

Recycling in the City of Superior is handled by Hartels-DBJ.  Their schedule for the holiday week shows that their usual schedule will be delayed by one day.  All recycling questions should be directed to Hartels/DBJ directly at 218-729-5446.
