Lynx Stay Hot With 91-84 Win Over San Antonio
The Minnesota Lynx have continued to stay hot winning four of their last five games after defeating the San Antonio Silver Stars 91-84 at the Target Center on Thursday night.
Seimone Augustus missed her 2nd straight game due to bursitis in her left leg.
But the Lynx seem to have a different player step up game after game. This time it was Monica Wright who started in place of Augustus scored the Lynx first 6 points on the made three pointers. Wright missed the first 10 games while recovering from offseason knee surgery had a season high 17 points. Lindsay Whalen scored 22 points and Maya Moore added 21. Six Stars scored in double figures, led by rookie Kayla McBride with 17.
The Lynx got a huge lift before the half when point guard Tan White hit a deep three pointer at the buzzer pushing the Lynx to a 41-35 lead at the half. The Silver Stars kept the game close in the 2nd half but the Lynx were 10 of 10 from the free throw line down the stretch to seal the game. The Lynx have beaten the Silver Stars in all three games that they have faced them in this season.
