Alliance Outdoor Group is an outdoor hunting and recreation gear company based out of Lakeville Minnesota and have issued a recall of a certain type of tree  stand. Consumers have been warned to stop using these tree stands immediately as the cable assemblies have been shown to corrode over time, making the tree stands unsafe. So far there have been 5 reports of cables separating and 2 people suffered broken bones from falling.

This recall comes just days away from firearms deer hunting season in Minnesota with nearly 500,000 hunters estimated to be out this season, and deer stands a very popular item to have.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced recalls Wednesday on roughly 3,400 X-Stand Tree stands under the model names Silent Adrenaline and Apache. The Silent Adrenaline model is the XSCT334, and it has batch numbers of 5X-1017 and 5X-1517. The Apache model is the XSCT355, with a batch number of 5X-5317. The UPC codes on the box for the recalled stands are 816153011219 for the Silent Adrenaline and 816153011677 for the Apache.

These are older tree stand models made in China and sold from May 2017-December 2018 at a variety of retail outlets across the country and online as well. You should stop using these tree stands immediately and contact Alliance Outdoor Products for a gift card refund. The price of these tree stands varied form $200-$300.

I myself have never gone deer hunting, but I do have a few friends that are avid hunters and I have always thought how nerve racking it would be to be up high in a tree on one of these stands. I am not a good judge of those though since I am afraid of heights. If you have a tree stand please check and make sure it is not one of the models listed in this recall, and spread the word to your fellow hunters. For more information on this recall you can find the information here.
