A 15-year-old girl from Edina is being hailed as a hero after she had some lighting fast reaction time and ended up in part to help save a customer's life. Sydney Raley has been working at a McDonald's in Eden Prarie since this summer but had no idea what would be in store for her in the future.

It all happened a few weeks ago as Raley was working the drive-thru doing her typical job duties when she noticed that one of the customers who was in her car was in distress. She noticed that the woman was coughing profusely and the woman's daughter who was sitting next to her had a look on her face like she was scared to death. At that moment Raley realized the woman was choking and she would have to react quickly.

Raley told KARE11:

I jumped out the window of the drive-through and I got her out of the car and I told her daughter to call 911. I started doing the Heimlich maneuver, but I’m not really strong so it didn’t work the first couple times.

Raley had taken a Red Cross class back when she was 11 years old so she could babysit and her training back then came into play for her to realize what she needed to do. When she realized she was not strong enough to dislodge the food from the customer's throat she flagged down another customer who was waiting in his car. The man jumped out and did the Heimlich maneuver on the woman and was able to dislodge the food.

With the combined effort of this customer and Raley's quick thinking, they very well saved this woman's life. What a scary situation for all involved, but goes to show how important it is for everyone to know how to do basic first aid, especially the Heimlich maneuver.

Burger Toppings - Other Than Lettuce + Tomato

The hamburger is probably one of America's favorite foods. And while you can eat them plain, most people add toppings to theirs to make them even more delicious. Besides the condiments (i.e. ketchup, mustard, maybe mayonnaise and barbecue sauce), the standard toppings usually include some combination of cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion. Those standard toppings represent the majority of burgers that get made and eaten. However, some people look for other toppings to take their burgers "over-the-top". Read on for some ideas you might not have thought of before.
