We got some bad news from the Vikings today, #99 Danielle Hunter has been put on injured reserve.

Due to some new rules for the 2020 season, Hunter will be able to return after three games vs. eight games as in previous seasons, so the Vikings will be without one of its biggest defensive stars for at least the first three games of the season.

Coach Mike Zimmer had told the media that Hunter a "little tweak" in his neck area, but clearly it's more than just a little tweak, the team gave no further details about Hunter's condition.

With Aaron Rodgers leading the Green Bay Packers into US Bank Stadium this Sunday for the 2020 season kickoff, the Vikings will really miss the pass rush pressure that Hunter gives them, but hopefully, by adding Yannick Ngakoue the Vikings saw this coming and he can provide the much-needed pressure against #12.

Hunter, who was drafted by the Vikings in the third round in 2015, is a two time Pro Bowler and has 54 sacks and 276 tackles during his career with the Vikings.

The Vikings start the season Sunday at noon against Rodgers and the Packers, catch the play-by-play action live from US Bank Stadium with Paul Allen on your Northland Home for The Minnesota Vikings, 106.5 The Fan! SKOL!
