It is hard to believe it has been a year since we all sat down for the most boring hour in sports history. People talk about where they were when JFK was shot, or when Apollo landed on the moon, and when 9/11 happened; but now people say where were you when LeBron said he "will take his talent to South Beach?"

Lets not bash on James, he wanted to play basketball with his friends, and every person who has played some kind of sport in their life knows how much fun it is to play a sport with their friends; so in that sense what leBron did was not bad, but within 48 hours of the "Decision" we heard LeBron say not 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 but 8 championships. And a few weeks ago we saw LeBron disappear in the NBA Finals, so in that sense LeBron "Decision" was bad.

But lets take a look back at the now infamous "Decision". Some  sports writers say what LeBron did was great for the NBA, was it? LeBron broke up with his former team via nationally watched TV show, then paraded around South Beach with the fellow Miami Thrice, and then created a commercial saying what should I do? But besides that he created a bad boy image for the NBA which has lacked that since the 80's Detroit Pistons. James made the Heat look like the Yankees and Duke Men's basketball of the NBA, and has divided NBA fans into LeBron fans or LeBron haters.

Yet if you take a look into the Nielsen ratings of the NBA Finals, The Finals gave ABC their highest ratings in the summer since the last time Michael Jordan won a championship(1998). So when you look at who won the "Decision", the NBA has had the highest ratings since the last 90's, but also this lockout the NBA is in right now is because of what happened after the lockout. Players now want to go to the "big-market" teams to acquire championships and more money. Losing end James, because he is now the Dennis Rodman of his era, James will forever be know for the "Decision". So in reality it has created a drama show for the NBA, which is great for ratings, but then has created a bigger problem in letting players create "dream teams".  In the bigger picture the loser is both the NBA and LeBron.

Forever the reference I am taking my talents to South Beach will be remember

in sports history as the biggest waste of time. Until James wins a championship; he will be forever remembered for his cowardliness way he left Cleveland, and now the Heat will be the bad boys of the NBA until LeBron (quitness) retires or leaves. Where were you when LeBron took his talents to South Beach?
