Popular Duluth Bar & Grill Looking For Help Identifying Suspects
A restaurant in Duluth is looking for help from the community to identify two individuals who allegedly stole from the business.
The Cast Iron Bar & Grill located at 5906 Old Miller Trunk Highway posted several photos to their Facebook page asking if anyone could identify the individuals. These people allegedly stole three kegs from the restaurant.
Judging by the photos, those kegs were empty, or this woman had super strength. Why would someone steal empty kegs?
Beer kegs have become a hot commodity after the price of stainless scrap has skyrocketed in the last few years. Theives who work with unreputable scrap dealers can make some quick cash by snatching them. It's actually become such a problem nationwide that it's now illegal to turn in a keg to be scrapped.
The timestamp of the first photo shows that these individuals arrived at 8:08 am on Saturday morning. The Cast Iron Bar & Grill doesn't open until 9 am on Saturdays, according to their website.
As you can see below, the woman grabs the keg one-handed and loads it into the backseat of the white GMC SUV. Pretty brazen to steal from a place in broad daylight, just minutes before staff would arrive at work.
They also posted a zoomed-in picture of them, but unfortunately, it is a little grainy. Someone that might know these people or the vehicle might be able to identify them.
They gave the license plate number to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office. If you have any information that can help, please contact the Sheriff's department at 218-726-2340.
