Some road work planned for East Superior Street will see a public meeting for feedback and comments.  The City of Duluth has scheduled the meeting about the work on East Superior Street between 45th Avenue and 60th Avenue for Thursday, January 28 at 4:00 PM.  Due to the constraints of the response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the meeting will be held virtually using a pre-existing link.

According to details released by the City of Duluth, the road work in that neighborhood of East Superior Street will aim to preserve the life of the existing roadway.  A look at the punch-list for the work between 45th Avenue East and 60th Avenue East shows that city crews will upgrade curb-to-curb pavement, upgrade intersection curb ramps and existing sidewalks so that they meet the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  Design work for the project will not be contracted out - rather, the design engineering will be handled in-house by the City of Duluth.

Funding for the work will come from a variety of sources.  According to the City of Duluth, they'll be using some federal and State of Minnesota funds in addition to dollars from their own budgeted allotment.  Due to the availability of these non-local funds, surrounding property owners will not be assessed to pay for the work.
