As the vaccination process for COVID-19 rolls along, St. Luke's is making some changes to the way that they have people scheduling their appointments.  The health organization has removed one option but they've added another and are also instituting a third way as well.

The hotline number that St. Luke's Clinic had been using to schedule COVID-vaccination appointments for patients has been discontinued.  According to details released by the organization, the discontinuation will "....improve the patient experience and prevent long phone wait times."

Moving forward, here are the two ways that COVID-vaccine scheduling will occur at St. Lukes:

  • Online:  Any St. Luke's patient who is 65 years of age or older with a myCare patient portal account may schedule an appointment online.  To schedule an appointment or to sign up for the portal, visit slhduluth.com/mycare.  This is the method of scheduling that St. Luke's is encouraging. This will also become the method that they'll encourage once the hospital opens up COVID-91 vaccines to "non-St. Luke's patients 65+".
  • Direct Calls From St. Luke's:  St. Luke's is calling primary care patients who are 65 years of age and older, prioritizing those who are considered highest risk.

It's worth noting that St. Luke's online schedule is built out for a rolling four weeks.  This means that every weekday at 8:00 AM, St. Luke's will add one additional day onto the end of that four-week schedule.  That means that every day there will be a new batch of appointments available for people to schedule through the portal.  St. Luke's will provide a daily update on how many appointments will be added on their website; click here for more details.

While the vaccination process is an evolving situation, St. Luke's currently has allotments for about 200 first doses per day.
