Superior Mayor Paine Announces Opening Of New Bear Creek Trail

There's been a lot of work over near Wisconsin Point this summer in Superior. The latest improvements being made is the beginning of the Bear Creek Trail. It will eventually run all the way to Wisconsin Point. Today the first mile opens according to a post from Superior Mayor Jim Paine's Facebook page.

It's great to see Superior expanding and beautifying the parks and wilderness that we have. I hope people will treat the trail with respect and get out and enjoy it. I'm excited that it will connect to Wisconsin Point, completing a trail system from the city to Lake Superior. Wisconsin Point is a beautiful spot that is often over shadowed by Park Point. I always tell tourists that are looking to experience Lake Superior to try Wisconsin Point. It's more remote, and feels more like the outdoors than Park Point, but that's just my two cents. Both shorelines are pretty great, and I'm excited to see Bear Creek trail completed.
