Superior Schools Offer COVID-19 Vaccines For Students

They're bringing it to them!  The Superior School District is aiming to make it easy for eligible students to receive their COVID-19 vaccinations.  The move is part of a coordinated effort by local, state, and federal authorities.

The school is bring a COVID-19 vaccination clinic to both the Superior Middle School and the Superior High School in a two-dose series of events.  The first date is Thursday, September 23.  Enrolled students at the two Superior schools who are 12 years of age or older can receive their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on that date - right in the school building.  A second event and date has been scheduled for Thursday, October 14 to give those students their necessary second dose.  When complete, they will be fully vaccinated.

In order to take part in the in-house COVID-19 vaccination, eligible students will need to have written consent from their parent or guardian on file. The usual student protocols for medical information and consent will be followed.

The clinic is being made possible through a partnership of a variety of organizations.  According to an article in the Superior Telegram, this targeted clinic for Superior students is being made possible by the Superior School District, in cooperation with Douglas County Public Health and AMI Expeditionary Healthcare, the "organization that is operating the vaccine clinic at the University of Wisconsin-Superior".
