I was ready to hate on three-time Olympian Suzy Favor Hamilton about her recent admission of her work as a high class escort in Las Vegas, but only because she's married, and that's not cool. Then I found out that her husband knew about it -- wait, really? Everyone shut up.

Since her Olympic fame, the champion runner has been featured on a Nike commercial, in a swimsuit calendar, and several other gigs -- including being a $600/hr escort for one of Vegas' premier escort services, Haley Heston's Private Collection. At a time when we all stand poised to fall directly off of the fiscal cliff, are we really going to hate on a girl tryin' to eat? While a secret life of extra-marital affairs is pretty shameful, this situation is an open and shut case of We Need to Mind Our Own Business.

Hamilton -- who recently admitted to her work and called it a "huge mistake" -- operated under the alias "Kelly Lundy." She told several clients who she really was, though, which is how the story leaked because duh someone bragged about sleeping with her. She also reported that she was, at the time, suffering from depression and was seeking a thrill. Ever been there? Everyone has -- the only difference is that no one cares about little old you and me, so they weren't there to take pictures that time you decided to "live a little" and ended up getting arrested for indecent exposure and public urination. Good thing, huh?

Upon admitting to her work as an escort, Hamilton had this to say: “I take full responsibility for my mistakes. I’m not the victim and I’m not going that route. I’m owning up to what I did. I would not blame anybody except myself. Everybody in this world makes mistakes. I made a huge mistake. Huge." Even if she really feels like she made a mistake, it was a mistake in her private life, and it has nothing to do with her Olympic career. Please shut up.

People in the public eye are people, just like you and me. Sometimes they have really bad morning breath, sometimes they have hangovers and look like a truck hit them in the face, sometimes they clog toilets at work and get really embarrassed, and sometimes they takes risks to make their lives exciting -- it's not fair that these things end up being public fodder. Hamilton didn't sign a contract with the American people to be a certain kind of person, just because she's a fast runner.

Can we please, please talk about something else now? How was your day?
