Not everyone in the state of Minnesota has it in for Vikings kicker Blair Walsh.

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have signed kicker Blair Walsh to a contract extension.

Lo and behold, the preseason is just about to begin and soon after that, the regular season will finally be upon us.  This also means that teams around the league will begin trimming their roster from 90 to 53 for week one.

The 2012 season for the Minnesota Vikings was an interesting ride for fans. Returning to the field with several young players, relying heavily on rookies in key positions, and hoping to improve from a 3-13 season the year before; expectations were low.

Minnesota Vikings rookie kicker Blair Walsh was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after kicking his team into the playoffs on a last second game-winning field goal.

Minnesota Viking's Adrian Peterson, Jared Allen, Blair Walsh and Jerome Felton all earned trips to the NFL Pro Bowl game in Honolulu, Hawaii January 17th.

Adrian Peterson isn't the only member of the Minnesota Vikings getting attention for the use of is legs, rookie kicker Blair Walsh is making a name for himself as one of the best kickers in the NFL by winning his second NFC Special Teams Player of the Week Award for his performance against the St. Louis Rams.
