The University of Minnesota-Duluth men's hockey team defeated their opening round opponent on the road to the Frozen Four

The opponent the UMD Bulldogs will face in the first game of the Frozen Four will be shorthanded a couple of big names due to COVID-19.

Three Minnesota teams are in the Frozen Four. In those teams there are 43 players who are Minnesotans, and 10 of those are right here from the Northland.

St. Paul, Minnesota stands far and away as the fan favorite Frozen Four host destination according to a recent fan vote.

With all this talk about 3 to 99 inches of snow falling in the Northland (I may be exaggerating), let's not forget that the UMD Bulldogs are on a mission in Buffalo.

In anticipation of the big game for the Frozen Four the UMD Pep Band wanted to show off their flowage as they help cheer on the UMD Men's Hockey Team.

Watching UMD defend it's National Championship in men's hockey won't be too hard to do as ESPN has announced it will once again be carrying the entire tournament across its networks. Here's the schedule.

UMD will begin the defense of its national championship Saturday, March 30, in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
