After 28 seasons with the team, Hermantown Hawks boys hockey head coach Bruce Plante has announced his retirement. Plante ends his career with the Hawks on a high note, collecting back-to-back Class A State Championships with his team.

The Hermantown Hawks boys hockey team entered Wednesday night's 7A Championship against the Greenway Raiders looking to punch their 8th straight ticket to the state tournament and defend their Class A title from last year. Led by Jesse Jacques and Tyler Watkins, the Hawks were able to do just that.

The reigning Class A Minnesota Boys Hockey Champions were among a group of teams featured in an ESPN E:60 episode about the State of Hockey (Hair). The show, titled "MinneFlowta", gave "Hairmantown" a segment, chronicling their 7 consecutive trips to the state championship game, which culminated in finally winning it all back in March of this year.
