EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings brought back veteran Matt Cassel back to be the bridge to their future quarterback. The blueprint was produced on draft day when they traded into the end of the first round to take Teddy Bridgewater.

Going into last night's NFL Draft, Teddy Bridgewater was one of the top quarterback prospects. Before he hears his name called by the Minnesota Vikings as pick #32 last night, the former Louisville star had a surprise for his mom.

As Rick Spielman has done in previous drafts, the Vikings traded with the Seattle Seahwaks to get pick number 32, the final pick of the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. With that pick, they addressed their need at quarterback.
