The Grand Rapids Republican was arrested by Bloomington Police on Monday.

He was accused of approaching a Rochester man shortly before he was set to testify against the alleged ringleader of the $250 million fraud scheme.

Investigators allege he twice attempted to travel to Somalia to join the terrorist organization.

The witness intimidation allegations involve a Rochester man convicted in the case who is testifying for the prosecution.
