The Minnesota Twins announced plans this week for retiring former manager Tom Kelly's number 10 at a ceremony in the 2012 season. Kelly will become the 7th person in Twins history to have this honor, joining Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew, Kirby Puckett, Kent Hrbek, Tony Oliva, and Bert Blyleven.

Kelly served some time as a Twins player in the 1970s and managed the team from 1986 to 2001, including two World Series titles. The ceremony will be held on September 8, 2012 on what has been called Tom Kelly Day, when the Twins face off against division rival Cleveland Indians at Target Field.
