I'm not here to tell you what to do, but I do want to tell you how I've saved a lot of time the last couple of weeks by deleting Facebook from my phone.

It started with me getting sick of the political BS, mostly because few people fact check anything they post and then do nothing but fight with each other instead of having healthy conversations.  The doom scrolling was at an all-time high for me, and while I keep politics off my page, I get sucked into reading what idiots post back and forth to each other while getting nowhere.

Initially I deleted or rather put my account on hold, then realized I needed it at times for work, so I re-opened my account for using on my laptop.  I rarely use my laptop, but I always use my phone, so deleting the app from there was key to not checking it.

After not having easy access to Facebook, I'm not going to say I'm less lazy, but I have gotten more done around the house and I find myself going to sleep earlier.  I'm all around much more productive without it.

I always knew I spent too much time scrolling on Facebook, but didn't realize just how much.  Not that the scrolling was all bad, but I didn't get much out of it.  I also spent way more time on Marketplace looking to spend money I didn't want or need to spend.

At first, it was tough as I was habitually swiping on my phone to find the spot Facebook was planted, then after about a week the habit was broken.  It's been refreshing and once a week when I do login to it on my laptop, I find I didn't miss much.  Again, I'm not telling you what to do, but if you need a break from the drama and negativity, try taking one and see if you really miss it.  I sure don't.
