Uber Announces New ‘Quiet Mode’ Feature For Riders

The dream of introverts is finally coming true.

Uber announced some big news on Tuesday (May 14th). They will now be allowing passengers to choose if they want to chat with their drivers - or not.

According to a press release put out by the company, you can now engage in "Quiet Mode" if you aren't feeling that chatty. Uber says the new feature is for those that "need to respond to emails or are in the mood for a nap."

Better yet, if you ARE in the mood to chat, you can now let the driver know that as well.

The only catch? You have to be riding an Uber Black or an Uber Black SUV. If you aren't familiar with the rideshare service, they allow you to choose different rides based on your needs. For example, they offer smaller cars, nicer rides and cars with more seating if you're traveling with a big party.

Other features being rolled out for those riding in the cars mentioned above include help with luggage, temperature control and professionalism.
