UMD Men’s Hockey Team Unveiled Championship Rings
The UMD Men's Hockey Team has won back to back NCAA Championships, giving the school a total of three men's titles. The trophy cabinet at UMD is getting pretty full, and now the individual players each have their own championship rings.
Members of last seasons team gathered at Amsoil Arena yesterday to pick up their "Bulldog Bling". Former UMD Captain Parker Mackay told WDIO "I'd love to have that opportunity to go back and some of these guys have that opportunity to win three in a row," According to WDIO, Mackay signed with the AHL's Texas Stars in the offseason.
With Head Coach Scott Sandelin remaining at the helm and the talent this team has I say a third championship in a row is a real possibility! UMD opens the season October 11th vs UMass Lowell, and the Bulldogs will raise their NCAA Championship banner that night as well. To see UMD's schedule, click here.
