As the Vikings offseason rebuilding continues, the recurring theme is youth and shape-able talent. Based on the most recent signing by the team, wide receiver Devin Aromashodu must fit that mold. The team announced earlier today they have re-signed Aromashodu to another deal after his debut with the Vikings last season.

Aromashodu, who is 27 years old, posted 26 receptions for 468 yards along with 1 receiving TD and 2 special teams tackles last season. Prior to joining the Vikings last year, Aromashodu spent three years with the Chicago Bears and two years with the Indianapolis Colts; who drafted him in the 2006 draft.

Aromashodu's numbers with the Vikings last season marked career highs across the board in all categories except touchdowns. Aromashodu has 5 career NFL receiving touchdowns over his 6 years in the league, 4 of which came in the 2009 season with Chicago and the fifth coming in 2011 with the Vikings.

The ultimate hope is that there will be an improvement in the number of scores going into the 2012 season, considering there has been no move to bring in any outside help at wideout so far in the offseason. Wide receiver is one of the many needs for the Vikings going into 2012, so it will be interesting to see how things shape up through the draft and remainder of the offseason.
