Zach Lamppa and Tom Chorske announced that a pass that took place in 2018 was indeed a World Record.

So the infamous pass took place on the ice of Lake of the Isle in Minneapolis. Their posted YouTube video of the record-breaking pass has the attention from the hockey world, as well as the NHL Network who came to them for an interview.

Lamppa who grew up in Virginia, MN, and now lives in Detroit Lakes, MN  passed to Minnesota hockey legend Tom Chorske, a former Golden Gopher star, and Stanley Cup Champion. The Record they had to break was 894 feet. They took 3 practices, none of which was successful, and on the first try, sent the puck 904 feet. A new record.

“I’ve always wondered how far I could actually pass the puck in perfect conditions,” said Lamppa in the video. “We did this to inspire people. You never know what’s possible until you try.”

On the receiving end of the record pass was Minnesota hockey legend Tom Chorske, a former Golden Gopher star, and Stanley Cup Champion.

While Lamppa doesn’t know how long the record will stand, he hopes it will give others inspiration to break the record or break another record in another sport or activity.
